Bagatelle, a multinational restaurant group featuring fine French Mediterranean cuisine, impeccable service, and a lively atmosphere is seeking the perfect candidate to fill the role of Director of Operations for our American properties.  The primary focus of this role would be overseeing all operational aspects of our New York and Miami properties, with assistance for our St. Barth, Punta Del Este, and various pop up locations as needed. 

A Director of Operations with Bagatelle serves to provide oversight on all operational initiatives with an emphasis on cost controls, optimizing operational efficacy, and creating a productive working environment.  They are directly responsible for maintaining up to date certifications and licensing, as well as ensuring all aspects of a restaurant are up to code.  Directors of Operations must maintain open lines of communication with service providers to promote productive working relationships, which are vital for improving a restaurant's quality of service delivery.  Above all, a Director of Operations for Bagatelle must possess excellent leadership abilities with the drive to inspire and unite.  

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide visible leadership to management and employees while generating a restaurant atmosphere focused on hospitality where the expectations of the guests are exceeded routinely
  • Help to create and standardize policies and procedures to ensure the achievement of goals related to compliance, revenue growth, service standards, and other operational functions on a daily basis
  • Conducts all necessary inspections and audits; develops and implements plans of actions on a timely basis
  • Participate in hiring committee in staffing of appropriate BOH and FOH personnel
  • Inspect restaurants during services times to ensure that quality is achieved and correct standards are maintained
  • Ensure all management and employees are focused on exceeding guidelines related to:
  • Food quality, and excellence
  • Facility cleanliness and maintenance practices
  • Service procedures
  •  

 

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for assisting Executive chefs and General Managers to achieve successful P&L results, including control of food and labor expenses
  • Responsible for partnering with the Chef and Managers to achieve budgeted annual sales and profits
  •  Attain the financial objectives of the business through effective management of people, product, service and facility processes, including a focus on the revenue and profit components.
  • Work with ownership to determine capital expenditure items for the restaurants
  • Review monthly profit and loss statement and acts on all variances
  • Conduct P&L performance analysis and troubleshoots areas of interest while assisting in developing appropriate solutions to identified problems and opportunities

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/PRIMARY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years professional hospitality leadership experience in a similar environment
  • Must have a successful track record in leading operations and meeting budgetary sales and profitability objective
  • A solid track record demonstrating career trajectory
  • Expert knowledge on standard restaurant financials
  • Up to date knowledge of latest industry trends
  • The ability to uphold brand standards
  • Must possess excellent and proven people management skills, including conflict resolution, coaching, and developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management
  • The ability to travel to restaurant locations both domestic and global
